"Time for another thrilling episode of: Fleck Cove's Theories!"
THE GREEN EMBER
What if the Green Ember stone is... well.... not the only one of it's type? what if, on Golden
Coast or wherever, the green ember was found in a mine? say, here's another story here:
The miner swung his axe. it knocked off a chunk of rock, but before he could swing again, he noticed a glimmering gemstone.
Now, let's talk rabbits. There are Garten-like bunnies, and there are not-Garten-like-bunnies. Now, say the miner was a Garten-like-bunny. he finds the crystal, what does he think? ALL MINE!!!!!! WHAHAHAHA! then, let's say he finds MORE of the crystal. What's he gonna do? Sadly, he would give the first stone to the king, and keep the rest. Sad.
Throughout the series, the Green Ember has fallen a lot. From Picket's sword in Ember Falls, into the Dragon Tomb in Ember Rising, it went without being scratched the whole of Ember's End. so, what if the stone the Green Ember is made of is stronger then your average Emerald? wouldn't that make it a green diamond?
What if this rock can protect the good while destroying the evil? Say a rabbit was to make a bunch of swords or arrow tips with the same rock. Would those weopens be sturdier then the others? Would they be more effective on Morbin then the others?
WHITSON STONE
now let's talk about the Whitson Stone.
It seems to get stolen a lot. Bleston stole it. it survived a fall from Cloud Mountain. then Kyle got it.
How? did he somehow find it? did Picket grab it, then drop it? Did Bleston give it to Tameth before he fell?
The most likely is option 3.
Rutabaga.
So anyways, what if the same is true for the Whitson stone as is the Green Ember? What if the Whitson stone not only signifies leadership of Natalia, but also is very sturdy?
so, there's my wild theory...

Also, a few times The Green Ember is described as "a large green diamond".
I think. I could be wrong. I probably am.
Well, on this listing: The Mohs Scale - A List of Gemstone Hardness | Purely Diamonds-rubies are listed just below diamonds in terms of hard gems, so it's really not that surprising that the Whitson Stone could have survived Bleston's *ahem* tumble from the Cloud Mountain plateau. Emeralds are somewhat less durable according to the scale, but the Green Ember has also had some advantages. In Ember Falls it was hidden inside a special compartment of Picket's sword specifically designed to keep it safe, and when it popped out of said compartment it was immediately grabbed out of the air by Bleston. And in the dragon tomb, it was in Heather's satchel, and like Heather its landing was cushioned by moss. If the fall wasn't enough to cause Heather any harm, it doesn't seem like it would do any damage to a gem.

Very interesting theory! I've never thought about the origins of the Green Ember and Whitson Stone... I guess they had to be found somewhere.
