Rabbit places and their names

We know, or have a good idea, why a number of locations belonging to or named by rabbits were named what they were:

  • Immovable Mountain: was a mountain that, unusually enough for a mountain, apparently didn't move. Except for the one time it did. Which is the event in the mountain's history that gets brought up most. Weird.

  • Blue Moss Hills: from a distance, looked like they were covered in blue moss. Only, as it turns out, they were actually covered in standard colored moss and blue flowers.

  • Mistenlands: were...misty. Very misty.

  • Golden Coast: was a coastline where rabbits found gold.

  • Seddleton: named after Seddle.

What if The Green Ember was a Western?

This is probably more a case of "setting" than "location", but that seemed like the best categorical fit.

The biggest question to be answered, in my opinion, is whether or not we're talking the same levels of conflict. If we still have massive armies involved, then Helmer, Picket, and the rest are all still probably soldiers. On the other hand, if the wolves, Wrongtreaders, and such are just outlaw gangs, then our bucks would probably be more like marshals, sheriffs, deputies, etc. The Terralains seem like they'd work best as Native Americans, but maybe that's just me.

Obviously, you'd have to replace the monarchy system with something more culturally appropriate. Maybe Bleston ran for governor of the Natalia Territory only to lose out to his younger brother Jupiter. Perhaps Jupiter left behind a will that nobody can find, leaving various parties scrambling over his considerable property. Garten could be a…

Citadel Councils

So I was doing some editing over on the Green Ember wiki, and the subject of councils at the various citadels came up. It occurred to me that we actually know rather little about most of them.

  • Blackstone Citadel's Lord's Council is undoubtedly the most detailed in the series so far, being a major plot element in The Archer's Cup. The group includes all three Blackstone Keymasters, consisting of the citadel's lord, hospital matron, and a third member whose selection seems a bit more...random. We don't know what the late Stovall Gaines' role in the citadel was, Lokson was the newly returned son of the last citadel lord, and it was apparently perfectly acceptable for Jo to be appointed despite having pretty much zero connection to Blackstone. Ultimately the role went to Lead Captain Truff, who had been part of the council already as Ronan's deputy.

  • Cloud Mountain is stated…

Theories!!!

Hey! I just realized it's been forever since I posted anything, mainly because of school and track practice... I was tempted to work on an old fanfic or too, but like my art, I'm in writing block... So, I figured it was high time for another one of Fleck J. Cove's insane, far-fetched theories! Presenting.... Nick Hollow and Seven Mounds!!

Training Ground?

Alright, I was thinking about Seven mounds, the mysterious and ancient mounds of Nick Hollow through which Heather and Picket cut their escape in the first book. I imediatly thought to the Delver Training grounds in Skyward, so i was wondering if Seven Mounds could have been used as a training ground- the tunnels and obstacles would make a Perfect training area!

Dragons?'

It is also possible for the Dragon Tomb to be used to hod dragon prisoners for temporary, during the Dragon War. It is mentioned that…

As @Sagasaid, the implication-especially after Prince Lander & the Dragon War-seems to be that Seven Mounds was once a dragon stronghold. It could perhaps have been home to rabbits before that-relatives/ancestors of the Terralains-but it seems clear that the dragons took it over if that was ever the case. I'm wondering if it used to have bigger entrances though. If a wolf couldn't fit in through the whole Smalls and the Longtreaders used, a dragon might find it difficult. That is, unless dragons can squeeze through smaller openings than you'd expect, as certain smaller lizards can.

Of course, I suppose it could also have been home to some kind of evil rabbit cult.
